when it’s time for…
top-shelf character development and world-building, get yourself a wordsmith who does it alL.
Curtis Baxter, the American-Trinidad and Tobagan Blerd (that's Black nerd for those not in the know) born in North Carolina - but raised in Okinawa, Japan, and Riverside, CA - didn’t have your cookie-cutter childhood. With a dad in the military, Curtis's family zigzagged across the globe, turning him into a master of his imagination and world-building — out of necessity, not choice. It was in Japan, amid anime and manga galore, that his imagination went from spark to wildfire.
Curtis eventually laid down roots in Los Angeles and attended UCLA, where he snagged a BA in Afro-American Studies and an MFA in Screenwriting, making him a double Bruin with a penchant for storytelling. Now, with almost a decade of writing video games, television, and comics under his belt, he draws from his jet-setting past to fuel his narratives with a love for animation, sci-fi, and comedy.
Curtis has penned the upcoming BLACK PANTHER video game for Electronic Arts/Marvel Games (yes, he’s the guy with a Wakanda tattoo on his neck). He's also written additional Marvel properties such as MILES MORALES: SPIDERMAN and STORM – I guess you could say they’re past the dating phase… but they still haven’t put a ring on it (we’re talking about you, MCU).
His resume boasts gigs writing for the likes of Cartoon Network's "Ben 10," the sneaky twists of "Pretty Little Liars" for Pocket Gems, the nostalgic "Beverly Hills 90210" for Ludia Games, among others.
When he’s not weaving epic tales, Curtis can be found either giving back by volunteering for Young Storytellers or tearing it up on the dance floor, because why not turn the world into your stage?
